Porting Project with “Green Results”
Our job was to re-host the business application source code by converting portions of the code to run efficiently on jBASE. The re-hosting project included “cleaning up” the source code files and implementing stronger source code control. We analyzed over 6000 programs, removed duplicates and consolidated them into just over 2000 unique programs.
Bringing Order to Chaos with XML
The data was first converted into structured XML and then transmitted over the phone lines. Included in the data was a checksum that was used to determine if the data arrived without error. If the check-sum didn’t match the data received, the data was retransmitted. After the data was verified as being correct it was then inserted into our customer’s database.
