Our client’s sales order entry system just wasn’t cutting it. It was overly complicated, inefficient and no longer meeting their needs. It consisted of four laborious data entry screens and many of the fields were unused while other critical fields were missing. When accepting an order by phone, quite often the salesperson had to ask the customer to hold while they tabbed through the extra fields and pages. This made their order entry process cumbersome and prone to errors.

Solution

Our software development team redesigned and rewrote the sales order entry application and optimized it to meet their specific needs. The third of the four screens was completely eliminated. On the remaining three screens, numerous data entry fields were removed and the missing required fields were added in the appropriate places.

Results

The enhanced sales order entry process speeds up the sales transaction, reduces data entry errors, and stores important order related data that had been missing – all of which results in increased productivity and ultimately improves their customers’ satisfaction.
